I’m Bobbie VanBatenburg, the founder and driving force behind herb & owl. As an alternative healer and energy worker, I spend my days concocting herbal remedies, nipping at the heels of the mainstream, and falling down research rabbit holes.

I consider myself a lifelong student.  I am—and will always be—attuned to the intersection of tradition, creativity, and modern medicine.  In 2016, after years of self-study, I started the next steps of my professional and spiritual journey. Receiving my certification from the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine empowered me to create a variety of high-quality botanical elixirs.  This was soon followed by reproductive-focused formal training with Birth Arts International, International Postpartum & Placenta Association, Positive Birth Learning Center and the Peristeam Hydrotherapy Institute.

As a birth keeper, I love empowering my clients to take control of their own reproductive health. My experiences assisting midwives at traditional home births and providing labor support in hospital settings has provided me with a broad understanding of the options available to pregnant people.  I’m honored to support diverse communities as they search for freedom of choice in reproductive healthcare.

I truly believe there’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all wellness. One of the most exciting parts of my journey is the opportunity to help others along theirs. I’ve worked with many of my clients for years, helping them build their health from the ground up. From elderberry syrup to boost your immune system, to an in-depth understanding of how your birth chart impacts your patterns and behaviors, I work with you to find real solutions.

I’m committed to keeping ancient medicine and practices alive while making them accessible to a modern lifestyle.
